A thorough visit takes time, so plan to be at the office for at least one hour. During the visit we will listen to you then discuss your desires, examine the area you wish to have corrected, and give you an opinion of what we feel can be accomplished with plastic surgery. At the conclusion of your plastic surgery consultation we may prescribe preoperative medications and give you some additional instructions in preparation for your plastic surgery procedure. In some cases we may recommend additional studies (x-rays and laboratory work) or consultations with other medical specialists. Most patients having breast augmentation, breast enlargement, breast reduction, breast lift and breast implants will require preoperative mammograms. The Plastic Surgery Consultation: Preparing YourselfPrior to coming to your plastic surgery consultation, you might include a self analysis in front of the mirror. Most plastic surgery clients will notice that their face or body is not perfectly symmetrical. Most plastic surgery clients have one side that is different from the other. You may notice that one ear, brow, eyelid, or cheek is lower or higher than the other. You may have well-formed wrinkles on one or both sides of your face. Your nose or chin may project more to one side. One breast may be larger or sag more than the other. Minor differences in facial or bodily characteristics are considered normal, so do not be alarmed if you notice them. Beauty, as we understand it, is as much a sense of balance and harmony as it is in proportion. This is true whether you are speaking about faces, breasts or any other part of the body. Definitions of beauty between women and men vary significantly. For instance, the beautiful female face has large eyes, a small nose, small chin, high cheekbones, and a large smile. Attractive male faces are noteworthy for large eyes, relatively small noses, bushy eyebrows, strong cheekbones and chin. Small or large breasts can also be out of proportion with the rest of the body. After analyzing your face and bodily features in a mirror, make notes and bring them with you to your plastic surgery consultation. Plastic Surgery Consultation FeesConsultations with our plastic surgeon are complimentary (no charge) for primary (first time) aesthetic or cosmetic plastic surgery procedures for all patients living within the state of Arizona. These include breast augmentation, breast lift, breast implant exchange, tummy tuck, liposuction, face lift, rhinoplasty, cosmetic eyelid surgery, buttock enhancement, fat grafting, botox, restylane and other fillers. When a patient wishes to have a consultation for revision surgery after a cosmetic surgery procedure a consultation fee of $100 will be required to schedule the consultation. Patients who request to be seen when surgery has been done elsewhere whether they wish to have a second opinion or scar revision or other type of revision procedure will be charged a $100 consultation fee. Patients not residing within the state of Arizona are subject to a $50 scheduling fee before the consultation can be made. The consultation will be complimentary, however, if for whatever reason the patient does not show up they will lose their $50 scheduling fee. We will be happy to evaluate your particular concerns and discuss a concise plastic surgery procedure(s) to correct the situation(s). During the plastic surgery consultation we will provide you with a great deal of written and verbal information about your particular concerns. Special knowledge and skill are necessary to reach a well-based medical opinion on whether or not plastic surgery will be of benefit to you. Plastic surgery patient coordinators are a valuable resource for most plastic surgery patients and are there to answer your questions and deal with your concerns. Our plastic surgery patient coordinators are knowledgeable, well trained and are there to make life easier for you. When plastic surgery patients choose to have plastic surgery with us, all postoperative visits are also complimentary. |
